About the Founder
More Than an Engineer™ was created by Stefanie Reichman, a licensed civil engineer, career pivoter, and builder at heart.
Stefanie earned her engineering degree at The City College of New York, where the beaver, a symbol of persistence, ingenuity, and thoughtful construction, serves as the school’s mascot. Long before it became part of this brand, the beaver represented the kind of engineer Stefanie aspired to be: intentional, adaptable, and purposeful.
After years in traditional engineering roles, Stefanie felt what many engineers quietly do. Engineering teaches you how to build, but it doesn’t always leave space to explore who you’re becoming. More Than an Engineer™ was born from that realization. It’s the belief that you are more than your title, the permission to step beyond a narrow definition of what an “engineer” should be, and the empowerment to design a career and life that reflect your full range of skills, creativity, and curiosity.
The Mascot
The beaver isn’t just a mascot. It’s a nod to Stefanie’s roots at City College and a metaphor for the modern engineer: someone trusted with something simple, yet capable of envisioning something greater.
Today, Stefanie builds at the intersection of engineering, technology, and storytelling. More Than an Engineer™ exists to remind others that growth isn’t abandoning where you came from. It’s building on it.
